It is obtained through the particular “sur lies” process applied to the best wine of the vintage. The peculiar flavors due to this technique, during the aging in barrique tend sometimes to become a bit unusual compared to the traditional Montepulciano.
This has reminded us the name of the Mazzamurello, a playful pixie of the Abruzzo tradition, that we imagine to live hidden among our barriques to play with the wine contained inside.
